Spongebob's latest debut makes a splash but with few ripples...

User Rating: 7.1 | SpongeBob Squarepants: The Yellow Avenger DS
Spongebob Squarepants: The Yellow Avenger is your typical platformer with a few minor tweaks here and there to freshen up gameplay. The Spongebob video game line has never been a huge success but TYA is actually a step in the right direction. With a silly plot , upbeat music, and vibrant graphics, Yellow Avenger is set for younger audiences but the game relies too heavily on back-tracking and instinct that it proves to be quite the challenge...

The Good: graphics are sharp; music is bubbly and suits the game well.

The Bad: constant back-tracking; often have to go exploring for missions. Breakdown:

=Gameplay- Explore Bikini Bottom as you help restore lost objects and provide help to fellow citizens while searching for babies of the Dirty Bubble.

+The graphics are clean and colorful and have improved a bit over its predecessors.

+The tunes is bouncy and cheery, much like what you would hear on the actual show.br />

Replay Value: Moderately low

Overall: B-

Tip: Having to back track will often turn young gamers off, but hardcore Spongebob fanatics will be impressed with its numerous improvements.
