I bought this game for the Playstation 1 a long time ago. Seeing as I was (And still is) a big fan of the SpongeBob TV shows. Too bad this game doesn't have much of a reason for you to keep coming back to it. The game itself resembles the 2D Mario platformers a little bit. You start at the beginning of a level and beat your enemies and make you way to the end. Some levels have a boss. None of the bosses are ever shown on the TV show except for The Flying Dutchman and the big Jellyfish. And as I said before this game just ain't that fun after you finish it 2 or 3 times. SpongeBob is the one you can use in this game. It would been cool if you could also use Patrick or even Sandy. But don't lett all of my complaints fool you. This is still a decent game. I just don't recommend to buy it unless you are collecting everything with SpongeBob or something since this game can be beaten withing a rental and you probably wouldn't want to play it again.
