A so-so platformer Spongebob fans will enjoy.

As the first 3-D Spongebob platformer title Spongebob Squarepants: Revenge of the Flying Dutchman does a fairly good job. This may not have the theme song but a lot of the characters are here from the show are here-and their personalities with them. The graphics could be better but they get the job done, some of them seen a little blocky but they are recongizable and still look good. The music in here is good but nothing surprizing and no Spongebob theme song. On a good side, every Spongebob character has the original voice from the show, too. The gameplay is basic platforming, but there really is no action here. There are a few enemies (and I mean a few) but the battle is so stiff and odd looking that it isn't very fun. So, if you think this is an action title and want it, maybe you'd better change your mind. On feature they add is the ability to catch jellyfish by sneaking up on them and getting them with a net. But, in one area when you have to get 100 jellyfish it can get annoying sneaking up on them 100 times and if you walk normally to them you have to wait 10 seconds for them to come down again. A cool feature is having a few costumes you can change into in a changing room to do different puzzles. Playing as a Mermaid Man Spongebob and shooting water balls can be very fun-also the reef blowing costume that allows you to push objects. This game is about a medium sized game and could take little kids a while there really isn't anything to do after you are done.
