High Octane Fun

Split/Second is a great game with tons of fun... but it's novelty dies quick, I recommend a rental, as this game does die very quick (10-20 hours) but it sure delivers in that short span. This game goes much for style over substance, and evokes giddiness at each well placed explosion that ruins another drivers day. You play as a contestant in a TV show with a city rigged with explosives and traps, your objective? Destroy your opponents by triggering "power plays" and try to get 1st place. There is one small problem with this formula though... and this equates to it's terribly noticebly rubber-banding AI, you destroy the entire opposition, to notice them respawn in mere seconds and slingshot past you even though you have the "best" car in the game. The multiplayer is lots of fun, but like the rest of this game... it's short lived. Overall a fun game, with lots of fun to be had, but is weighed down by it's lengthiness and its difficulty.
