Great for kids and Spiderman fans. Otherwise, there are better beat-em-up games out there.

User Rating: 7.5 | Spider-Man: Friend or Foe PS2
The Good: 2 player coop. Some moves and combos are pretty fun. Good dialogue during cutscenes.

The Bad: Controls aren't responsive enough. Players move slowly.

The Review: These beat-em-up games have been around for ages, even on the PS2. This game doesn't do anything different. It has a few powerups you can use to level up your characters, and it has 2 player coop, just like every other game. It even features a versus mode, like most beatemuppers, and it's not very good, like most beatemuppers. However, other beat-em-ups tend to move faster, have better control, funner combos, and better graphics. This game lasted my son about 12 hours of gameplay, which isn't too shabby for a beatemupper. And he absolutely loves the game, probably because he loves Spiderman and because the game is incredibly easy. As you play through the game, you'll come across the usual Spiderman bosses like Sandman and Venom, Doc Oc, etc. After beating them, they become your friend and you can use them as a sidekick. The entire game is played with 2 characters on the screen. If playing by yourself, the game AI will control your sidekick, and a 2nd human player can jump in and out at will.
