I HATED this game.

User Rating: 5.5 | Spider-Man vs The Kingpin GEN
Man, I had hopes for this game! I had gotten this when I was a kid around 9 years ago. I was excited about the game because I loved Spider-Man. I first discovered Spider-Man from watching the '90s cartoon TV show: "Spider-Man: The Animated Series". So I knew mostly about the Spider-Man universe.

Story: 7/10
- The storyline seems like it respectively belongs in the Spider-Man universe. It seems it like it could have been an episode on the '90s TV show. Spider-Man battles various super villains (Doctor Octopus, Sandman, The Lizard, Hobgoblin, Vulture, Mysterio, Electro, Venom) to obtain the keys needed to disarm a nuclear bomb that the Kingpin has not only framed Spider-Man for stealing, but plans to detonate within twenty-four hours. In the middle of the game, Spider-Man's wife Mary Jane Watson is also kidnapped by Venom.

Gameplay: 4/10
- The gameplay was terrible! I hated it very much! How can Spider-Man walk and get hurt by a rat that is crawling on the ground?! That does not make any sense at all! It reminds me of my review on RoboCop for the Nintendo on when I said: "how could RoboCop be hurt by sissy punches or plain old bullets?!" Also, why does Spider-Man's head looks like it has been chipped off every time he gets hit by something? This game has four different difficult levels, counting the ultra-hard nightmare mode. The additional ultra-hard mode challenge was that at the end of each round, the popular Spider-Man villain Venom would appear briefly and you had to fight him before you got to the actual boss.

Graphics: 7/10
- The graphics were pretty good. Everything looked pretty nice for an early Sega Genesis game.

Sound: 5/10
- The sound effects of the game was terrible! I hated all the music that played throughout the game!

Overall, I give this game a 5 1/2 out of 10. I believe this has got to be the worst Spider-Man game I have.
