Odd Camera, less-than-stellar controls, and infinite lives make this gorgeous platformer fall short.

User Rating: 7.5 | Spare Parts PS3
Spare Parts suffers from the same problem I found with the Lego games. Infinite lives. Oh you can die, but rather than relying on good old-fashioned restart points and the like, you simply re-appear and continue on. Sure the game is challenging to complete, but if you have the patience, this can be done in a relatively short time. Couple this problem to the imprecise and clunky controls, and things are not looking good.

Now onto the good. This game looks amazing, and the various world are highly detailed. Sprites are also detailed and move well, and everything looks quite nice. Once you have gotten used to the rather bad controls, the bashing and collecting nature of the game-play is quite fun. The puzzle elements and different abilities add a new dimension which saves the game from mediocrity, and when all is said and done, it looks, good and is worth its price tag.

If you are a fan of Ratchet And Clank this game is certainly for you.
