let this invade your mind!! Enjoyable for all ages.
Its colourful, its two screen, its got big bosses, but its a little easy.
Having only played it so far, half way through its a little unfair of me to comment, having said this ive had a few good hours spent playing this. Although its not hard, the animation and the whole presentation is great. The invaders are colourful, not having drab and boring mind melting greys or greens.
Is quite fast paced and the bonus rounds are superb, reminisant of the bonus screens in point break!!! shoot as many invaders in so many seconds!!
Taito added a galaxian style play in some levels, other quirky add ons keep space invaders extreme quite intresting and balanced. It was like i had magnets on my hands, i couldnt put it down. You are awarded special weapons for multi kills or specific kills which beef your ship up with multiple upgrades in varying form, again nothing new but keeps it in different style of plays. Unfortunately this can make it a little easy (sometimes), and at other times its quite a challenge.
The boss levels are well thought out and often two screen with a huge invader dominating the top and qualtiy gameplay at the bottom with the motherships smaller invaders trying to whipe you out. Agin the special weapons aid you greatly here!!
Althoug i havent finished this yet, I have to say what a good job taito did in developing this (long time in the business). They have somehow kept the spirit of space invaders (which we all love) and added some nitrous to it!!
Great gameplay, great presentation and immersive "ahh i cant put this down" ADDICTION will have you playing space invaders extreme over and over.
