Space Empires IV

Interesting. By far more complex that Star Trek: Birth of the Federation, but not as much compared to Master of Orion 3

Try it :). You can learn it quite quickly, the secret is to have patience and be ready to start over for some times... And don't be fooled by the great looking image that appears when the games starts ;).

All that is great about this game is basically the feeling. Really interesting to make your own ship designes, lots of different things to try. The combat is similar to the one in Master of Orion 3, so I just hit "strategic" since its basically a waste of time, although the AI is quite dumb and makes mistakes (some time).

The graphics is not good at all, but its part of the game's charm. The sound... better listen to your own music.
