Very fun and addictive fighter.

User Rating: 9 | SoulCalibur DC
Soul Calibur for the Dream Cast is a very good fighter, but by no means is it the greatest game of all time.

[Game Play] - Similar to Battle Arena Toshinden, each character wields their own weapon, whether it be a sword, whip, or other various weapons, and fight in arenas not confined with walls.

Of course you get the standard Arcade mode, but then comes a mission mode, where you accomplish different challenges with a character of your choosing. Some of these challenges range from beating an onslaught of fighters one by one, to breaking a character's gaurd with an unblockable attack. You gain money you can use to buy various things in "Museum Mode". The things you unlock from Museum mode could be art work, such as fan art and even character models. There are plenty of secret characters to unlock as well as different levels.

The Fighting system in this game is very well done. In this game, button mashing will only get you so far, but taking time to master different moves, then chain them together is the real deal. You'll spend hours on end mastering different combos to becoming the ultimate player. Fighting in this game is very innovative. Mastering combos and playing on higher difficulty settings will get you hooked.

[Graphics] - The graphics are very polished. The best part is not only can you unlock different arenas, you can also unlock different settings for the already playable arenas. For some arenas, you can unlock the setting to change from spring to winter, or autumn. The fighting is also very fast, with no slow down at all.

[Sound] - Lots of medieval type music in this one. It makes for fun and immersive game play.

[Overall] - If you have a Dream Cast and don't own this game, try and find it if you're a fan of fighting games. There is a lot this game has to offer, even some things I haven't mentioned.
