Surprisingly fun if you play it enough.

This game really shows its colors with its numerous amounts of game modes. They keep you very entertained for a moderate amount of time. The Tales of Souls is a mode where you play the stories of each of the characters. It becomes quite familiar after some time and I generally avoid this game mode. The best game mode, by far, is the regular old Arcade, or maybe even Versus. You select a character and battle your way through beautiful backdrops, and full characters. The graphics in this mode are unbelievable for this generation of gaming consoles. The characters all have unique moves and movement speed. A problem exists where players become one-dimensional. They will choose one character and perfect that character. This is only a problem when the friends you are playing with get all bent out of shape and tell you to pick a different character, and you have no idea how to use them. Tales of Souls is a very good mode for becoming versatile. The game mode Chronicles of the Sword was a great game mode once you started playing it. It's just one of those things that grows on you. The player goes through the world of war and battle as a commander, facing many challenges and twists. The strategy portion of the game is very dull as it seems to drag on and on. However, the RPG portion of the game is what keeps me addicted. I find myself trying hard to get to that next level, so I keep playing.
Overall, the game is very appealing with a few minor flaws. I found myself playing it about 20-40 hours total, which is a decent amount for a videogame.
