49 classic Sega Genesis including Master System Games on one disc!? Wow.....

User Rating: 8.5 | SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection X360
When I was younger, I remember my first console being the Sega Master System. I remember sitting there mesmerized by the fast quality and extreme fun of Alex Kidd: In Miracle World and Sonic the Hedgehog.
I had no clue what a hedgehog was and I didn't care, all I cared about was how much the Sega kicked arse. Years later I got the brand new Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) and was outstanded by it. The graphics and quality of it was awesome, and playing new Sonic games was just a treat. Sonic 2, 3, and Knuckles was a revolution in my perspective of platformers forever.

Then I heard about this "ultimate" collection and thought "What's the big deal" and after buying and playing this and seeing what games are on this one disc, ultimate was an understatement.

This game has a total of 49 games some of which are all time greats, and some that I've never even heard of. Now to be perfectly honest I haven't tried them all, but if there is a game with all Sonics and Golden Axe's, I was sold.

The quality of the games are great! In classic small screen mode take you back to the memories of your childhood, and with the option to make the games widescreen and smooth, it creates a futuristic and new perspective. Both modes work extremely well, regardless of what TV you have. And all the games sound GREAT! After hearing "Welcome to your Doom!" in surround sound, I got a shiver down my spine.

The controls are simple and are shown for each game before you play it, so it's easy to pick up. However on a 360 controller it does feel a bit strange and takes time to get used to. But no biggie.

If you wish to see the whole game list, Wikipedia it, because it gives you a good insight into what you're in for. I definitely recommend this game to any Sega fan, or any retro gamer out there. For 30 bucks, It was worth it by a mile, felt like a steal!

I only wish this game had Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Toy Story and Battletoads. Those games rocked lol
