Makes Sonic the Hedgehog for 360 look like ****!

User Rating: 9 | Sonic Unleashed X360
To start with, earlier in the years as Sonic hit the Dreamcast scene, he tried maturing into teen. It was an ok idea for Sonic Adventure 1 then 2 came out and I started seeing how terrible it was of a decision. Sonic is a big, talking, blue hedgehog, who in the right mind could possibly take him seriously?!! All that changed when Sonic Heroes came to town and he returned to his kiddy ways. The name says it all and when you go to the start screen, the music is just oozing kiddyness (if that's even a word.) . I personally didn't like Sonic Heroes because you were always tied down to Knuckles and Tails who always slowed you down. Sonic the Hedgehog for 360 and PS3 attempted to go back to maturity but failed miserably with a new set of problems....controls mainly.

When I first heard about Sonic Unleashed, I didn't really care for it and didn't really give it a shot until I played a demo level of it in Best Buy. I really like how they brought out his speed in this game. He can go so fast that at times, he becomes nearly impossible to stop. Alot of gamers would consider that as frustrating, which it can be if you top his speed at MAX. I left his speed at Level 5, even that's fast enough. Any more and you'll find it harder to enjoy the day time levels about as much as you will with the night time ones. God I hate the werehog levels and unfortunately, there are PLENTY of them! It's like a really bad version of God of War, without the blood and good combos. This game would've been alot better if it had just been Sonic alone.

Then I would've given it a 10. The story is just as dumb as any normal Sonic game, Eggman does this, blah, blah, blah, and all the music is back to normal orchestra. At least there's that...Also, don't let Gamespot's review fool you, the level design is just as wonderful as ever! In fact, now it's even better since they decided to splice 2D with 3D! Sonic Unleashed is well worth a try and it was great for the price I got it for, 20 bucks.
