Sonic Bore: The Fartsome Menace

User Rating: 5 | Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I PC

Team Sonic once again waves their incompetence in fans faces.

Sonic The Hedgehog 4, an official sequel to the original classic series... back in simpler times, when the game used a basic platforming formula built on momentum coupled with bright beautiful environments are dangerously catchy tunes.

Nope, we're too dumb to even do that right.

Let's totally ignore everything (what remains) of the fanbase wants.

Let's make him waddle along like a certain Italian plumber, stick to walls like Spiderman rather than have it be done by a now non-existent momentum.

That annoying auto-lock that never worked in properly in all our 3D Sonic games? Yea! That's what the classic games need. Instead of using manual dexterity, let's obnoxiously take over the controls for you, turning combat into a crappy QTE.

Oh and those enemies? Well, we aren't really going to bother with them much, and when we do, we will just place them so you run into them with no time to react. That's skill based gameplay, right? Right?

Let's get rid of that previous awesome aesthetic unique to the franchise and make it look like a crappy mobile game, because well, that's basically what it is. A drab, far too clean, flash looking game devoid of any character what so ever.

Instead of making 4 have original content, lets live of the glories past, directly lifting boss fights from the original and mimicking stages badly, making them look worse than 20 years ago.

That cool music? Yea. Gone. Enjoy listening to our Mario fan music.

It wouldn't be a Team Sonic game without a gimmick, and boy does this have it. You know what Sonic really needed? What fans wanted? Puzzles. Let's have 10 minute levels, where you have about 2 minutes to figure out a level that stops you dead in your tracks. Because that's exactly what the franchise needed, it wasn't the fact we can't design shit, no. We need more gimmicks, more layers, more more more.

This game is bad. Sonic Team are bad. Fire them.
