Sonic 2. My ultimate nemesis. Robber of nights. Sonic was and always has been an obsession of mine. Nothing can touch him for speed, and when I first played this, I was delighted to discover he was even faster. I spent countless hours as as a young boy bashing away at this benchmark in platforming. Sonic's second outing on the master system was without doubt the best game ever seen on the console, and playing it is one of my best childhood memories. I remember how frustratingly long it took me to find the Gimmick Mountain Zone chaos emerald, and how terrifying the final show-down with Robotnik was. My favorite zone fro the game was without question the Scrambled Egg Zone, littered with pipes and exploding badniks, it is all rather pretty. This is one of the best Sonic titles ever released, and the standard was set very early in the series. With games like this standing the test of time, it's easy to see why the next-gen titles will never quite live up to them.
