Sonic's game on the PSP is pretty fun, but it could have improvements.

User Rating: 8 | Sonic Rivals PSP

My 32nd review after Kung Fu Panda.

In this game, Dr. Eggman has invented a device that can turn people and things into cards, to which he has already done to Tails and Amy. So it's up to Sonic and his rivals, Knuckles, Shadow, and Silver to save them. While this game is pretty good, it could at least have some improvements, so this game deserves a B-. Here the results:

Voice-acting 7/10: Decent voices and quotes.

Game-play 8/10: With great sense of speed, plenty of thrilling loops, corkscrews, and jumps, those are what makes this an awesome 2D game. However, the level design can be a problem and there is not that many stages. Also trial-and-error process being required to pass each stage is another problem because it gets too boring.

Controls 9/10: Simple!!

Sound/Music 7/10: The game sure really has good music.

Lasting Appeal 8/10: This game is pretty good, but it could have some improvements.

Overall, Sonic Rivals is a pretty fun game, but it could've been better if it had improvements like I said before.

The Good:

-Great sense of speed

-Awesome stages full of loops, jumps, and corkscrews

-Pretty good music

The Bad:

-Not that many stages

-Trial-and-error process being required to pass each stage gets too boring

-Level design is pretty frustrating at times

That's the end of my review. Good day everyone!

Sonic Rivals gets an 8 out of 10!
