A nostalgic treat for fans of Sonic.
Gameplay, 7. There are thirteen games to start out with. Seven Sega Genesis games, and six Game Gear games. Seven of the games are 2D platformers. Sonic the Hedgehog was the very first Sonic game. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was the sequel. In this one you were allowed to play as Tails. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was the sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog 2. In this one you're allowed to play as Knuckles during the Vs. mode. Sonic & Knuckles was the sequel to Sonic the Hedgehog 3. There was no Tails in this one but you could play as Knuckles who could glide and climb walls. Sonic the Hedgehog for the Game Gear was just the shorter Game Gear version. Sonic Chaos was another Game Gear game that allowed you to use Tails who could fly. Sonic Blast was another Game Gear game that allowed you to use Knuckles.
That's about half of them. The other games are different.
Sonic Spinball was basically Pinball but with some mild platforming in it. Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine was a Puyo Puyo clone. Sonic 3D Blast was a semi-3D Sonic platformer. Sonic Drift was a Sonic kart racer. Sonic Labyrinth was a Game Gear title where Sonic moved really slow.
There are other ones you can unlock but I can't tell you about those.
Most of the games are all right and work decently with a Playstation 2 controller.
Graphics, 8. Sense this is a Compilation of old games it really wouldn't be fair to give the graphics a low score. For their time these were great graphics.
Sound, 8. The music, once again, for their time was also good. The sound effects were nice too.
Value, 8. This game should last you a while. You'll want to try out each game at least once, although I can't say you'll want to be them all.
Difficulty, Hard. Most of these games are pretty hard actually and require quite a lot of platformign skills to beat them.
Tilt, 7. I generally thought this game was decent. If you're a Sonic fan then you should probably get this. However if you never cared much for him then you should probably not get this then.
