Any SEGA Fan would love this pack and any SONIC fan would already have it....
On the Main Menu you have a section where you can read and view all the game manuals which I don't know if its worth it but its nice to see shame they gave you all the US manuals and not the PAL Versions.
On the Extras Section you can Read thats right Read every single Sonic the Hedghog comic and other comics from other characters in sonic games so this is still before we start any gaming there is all this on the pack.
Still on the Extras Section you have illustraions or artwork of sonic and his friends which is a nice touch also as a Movie Section with Movies from Sonic Hereos showing you how they made it step by step which is nice :)
In the Options now there is Hints up the top... I haven't unlocked any of these yet but I gather they are hints and tips to use during game play on the games in this pack.
There is Control setup and once again a nice end credits video clip showing images of sonic and his friends which shenmue style music in the background.
Now lets talk about the games we have in store here because the games start there is a nice Mega Drive image showing the years of Sonic and the Games so you have the legend known as Sonic 1 which is a 1 player game which started Sonic's life as we know it today. Followed by Sonic 2 where Trials makes his aparance which also has a great 2 player mode and very fun bonus stages.
Next we have Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles which I don't remember selling really well for the Mega Drive over here in the UK I remember Sonic 2 everyone talking about but these have upgraded Graphic and Sound and this is also where we meet Knuckles for the first time.
Sonic 3D didn't do too well in the reviews side of things this also came out on the SEGA SATURN and on the PC the PC Version of this game had SONIC 2 style bonus stages this game really was like the arcade version of SUPER SEGA SONIC and JP tracker ball arcade game. The idea of this game is to collect all the ficky's (If your a sega Fan you would know that SEGA made a game called Ficky which you had to collect all the chicks and return them home safely and this is basicly what this is.
You can collect rings and all the powerups and emeralds like normal sonic games and the bosses are very good. On the same its just the story about collecting the ficky's many put some fans off. (Even thou thats what you do at the end of Sonic 1 anyway lol)
Now we are talking this one was a game you kept playing and playing and I felt it was a soild hard game too Sonic Spinball was a Pinball game and Sonic was the Ball doesn't sound too good does it... well it works very well and its worth a go a great sonic 'Spin' off ... see what I did there 'spin' off like 'spinball' hehe.
This next game seems to be about in all SEGA's packs yea its a ok game but thats it ... its columns with a different theme you can't really go wrong with these games and I don't recall seeing sonic in this at all which is Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine.
So those where the Mega Drive Games and now moving onto the worthless titles of these games and this is what I didn't like about the GameCube version of this collection they put GameGear titles on there which were rubbish when they came out the first time and it totally messes this great pack.
Sonic 1 on the GameGear good little game using the word little because it becomes boring to play and your playing a GameGear handle game on your XBOX.
Sonic Labyrinth this is most likely the worst sonic game I have ever seen its slow and its a clone of the poor Sonic 3D .. why make a clone of that in the first place.
Sonic Drift which is a hangon style game with sonic themed characters .. you can't control the kart well and it looks so poor now... why didn't they just put Sonic R on there... oh yea they were saving this one.. another £20 please. I hear you cry...
Sonic Chaos was a good game in its time and thats what we are talking about ... in its time and on a GameGear not on a full screen TV it just doesn't look as good as it used to.. trying to use the Sonic 2 style of play from the Mega Drive.
Sonic Blast ok so we are using more Graphic on the Characters trying to make them look 3D with 2D backgrouns on a GameGear... does it work... no its poor do a loop the loop and then tell me what you think of this title.. it is using the Sonic 3 and Knuckles theme from the Mega Drive on this one.
Hmmm Dr. Robotniks Mean Bean Machine again and the GameGear version ... why ? we have already got the better I say better I mean another version of the game on this pack so why do we want a GameGear Version of a rubbish game anyway...waste of space..
Oh yea and there is 5 Hidden Games which I wont tell you but like the GameCube Version you need to unlock them by playing the games a number of times and going back and forth from menu to menu..
Any SEGA Fan would love or hate this pack and any SONIC fan would already have it before regards I do this review but with all the pretty menus and backgrounds why didn't they give us more great games even the master system versions of the games would of been better then the gamegear... would of been nice to see a Dreamcast Version on there..
