One of the greatest Sonic games ever.
Fortunately, Sonic the Hedgehog has caught wind of Robotnik's evil schemes and plans to stop the doctor at all cost. However, to complicate matters Dr. Robotnik has kidnapped the young hedgehog Amy Rose, and uses her to bait Sonic and keep the hedgehog off trail. To that end, he deploys his most sophisticated and diabolical machine to date: a robot duplicate of the hedgehog hero, designed to match Sonic's every move and even surpass his own namesake's speed.
Now, Sonic must gather the Time Stones before Dr. Robotnik can, defeat Robotnik and Metal Sonic, and save Amy Rose. I think that the storyline is dark and very well done. Best 16-bit Sonic game storyline. GAMEPLAY- Fastest 16-bit Sonic game. It keeps all the stuff Sonic is known for. One of the cool part is this "Super Peel out" boost that makes Sonic go extremely fast. It is executed by looking up, A button. When released, Sonic dashes at a very fast sense of speed. The level designs are old Sonic. It looks like the other 16-bit ones but is better for some reason. The controls are like classic Sonic. So.... basically most of the gameplay is the same. But for some reason better. Also, you can time travel in levels. By touching a flag that says Past or Future. Once you move fast enough after touching it, you time travel into another year. That's cool because if you're stuck on a level but you touched the flag, once you go fast, that makes the level designs easier, giving you a boost in the level. The bosses are very fun but are honestly not as good as Sonic 1's or Sonic 2's but they are still fun and addicting. The time attack mode makes you replay the levels you clear. Very nice gameplay. GRAPHICS- Honestly, they do not look as good as Sonic the Hedgehog 2, a Genesis Game that came out a year earlier. The Spin Dash looks kinda of awkward.This game uses graphics that look almost exactly Sonic 1. Sonic 1 did have great graphics. But yeah, Sonic 2 had better graphics. However, Sonic 1 graphics just seem to suit this game better than Sonic 2 sprites would and graphics aren't everything. SOUND- Awesome music... but not as good as the japanese one. But awesome music. Sound effects are classically awesome. VALUE- Great and awesome reply value. OVERALL- One of the greatest Sonic games ever. It's very great and addicting....really awesome. This is no dissapointment. A must buy for the Sega CD. This is the best Sega CD game. Total Must buy.
