In 2005, Sega released a game called Shadow the Hedgehog which got mixed to negative reactions. Criticism often went to the fact it had mild swearing or the slippery controls, but one of the most controversial parts of the game was the fact that Shadow was holding a gun. Later, in 2009, Sega released Sonic and the Black Knight which is part of the Sonic storybook series with mixed to negative feedback because of poor combat, iffy controls and the fact that Sonic was holding a sword. Now, I give my opinions on the game.
While some people hated the game, I found the game kinda fun. The environments were detailed, The CGI cut-scenes were good, the multi-player, the great sense of speed, the story was great and the music was awesome to, especially With Me, Fight the Knight, the stage music from Camelot Castle and Through the Fire. I also liked how for the other knights when Sonic bumped into them, Sega used their main themes from their respective games. What I also found interesting was the fact all of the knights were Sonic rivals from previous games (Shadow from SA2, Blaze from Sonic Rush, Knuckles from Sonic 3 and Knuckles, Silver from Sonic 06 and Jet from Sonic Riders).
The main problems with this game include the poor controls in which when you swing the Wii Remote, It has a very slow reaction time, the poor combat, the questionable rating system for this game and the somewhat frustrating boss levels like the Knights bosses when you get up close and it tells you to shake the Wiimote. I do shake the Wiimote but it doesn't respond!!! I mean, what the hell is up with that Sega??!! But they compensate that with the background music so um... yeah.
Overall, while I find this game inferior to Secret Rings, the game is very mediocre and I can't recommend this game that much, I still find a mild amount of fun in this game, even though Sega try to copy the Zelda games. If you wanna play the game, then I can't stop you but you might not enjoy it that much.
