A remake of an old game from generations past. Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut is for Sonic fans.

The story of Sonic Adventure is this… A monster whose body is entirely liquid is under Eggman's control. With every Chaos Emerald this monster gets, he shape shifts and grows stronger. It's up to Sonic to find the Chaos Emeralds before Eggman and Chaos do, otherwise it is the end of the world.
One thing that can be appreciated is you have the choice to play as Sonic and five of his friends, from well-known Knuckles and Tails, to the lesser known E-102 Gamma and Big the Cat, all of which will intersect at one point. Another thing that makes the game good is providing all of the characters with their own adventure and story. For example, as the character Amy Rose, you are protecting a bird from one of Eggman's other robots, or as Big the Cat, you are trying to get your pet Frog back after growing a tail and running away.
Every time you collect a certain number of emblems, you unlock one of Sonics more older games. They can be entertaining, also to see where it is he started, but with no way to save, I don't want to exactly play them and know you can't pick up right where you were last.
The main storyline is the same formula used as in any Sonic game however… Collect the seven Emeralds, or as some of the recent spin-offs seven colored powerful items, before the big bad. There are a few glitches in the game in terms of you'll get knocked off a path or stuck in a loop and fall to your death. The most frustrating part by far? Big the Cat fishing. It took me on and off five years to finally complete his story. It seems simple until you catch a fish instead of Froggy or Froggy breaks the line. No easier with hard to understand controls, as one time the tactic will work in one scenario, and then your downfall in another.
Despite problems, this is a good Sonic game, and an experience that will make you love the Sonic franchise for fans of the past, and fans just starting.
