Now I am a big fan of platformer games. I expected going into this game that I would be in for a platforming-filled treat. After playing through a level where I started out snowboarding down a street, running down a wall, and using dash pads to escape a truck, I thought "Oh man this is gonna be so flippin awesome!" Well, maybe not flippin awesome. Not awesome either. Just good. I was then dumped into a level where I had to find "chaos emeralds", which the game's plot revolves around. This level took me well over 10 minutes. The game does not even give you a map! I was then placed in a boring, unexciting attempt to be in a shooting robot. How can you make robots boring? How??? Nonetheless, those levels where you think "This is awesome!" come once in a while... So the game is a mixed bag, so to say, and it makes the mistake of showing its bad parts early on. But give this game a chance! You can look at its graphics in the mean time. The character models are pretty decent, but the environments are pretty flat. Speaking of a mixed bag, the same can be said for the sound. The voice acting is atrocious, as are some of the soundtracks for the scavenger hunt levels. I'm telling you, those scavenger hunt levels are painful. But some of the soundtracks are instant classics, such as the city escape theme and the white jungle theme. Now, this game's story is pretty incomprehensible in my opinion. It involves Shadow, the ultamate life form, wanting chaos emeralds to destroy the world. Really high concept stuff. It tries to have a twist ending, but to no avail. I must say, its better than the first Sonic Adventure's story. However, just like the first Sonic Adventure, chao breeding returns, and is as addictive as ever. So overall, this game is fun for the most part and you will find yourself replaying stages over and over. If you are in the mood for some platforming and a little excercise in anger management, give this game a try
