Old Skool Sonic in 3D, kids of the 90's rejoice!

Yes it's isometric. No it's not Sonic Heroes for the Saturn.
This game used to be one of my favorites, and in the terms of old skool, it still is. It's hard to adjust to the loopy controls and the levels are a bit tedious at times, but overall the game is still fun.

The story is pretty simple, it follows up with the generations of games before it- Sonic chases Robotnik (Yes, the guy everyone calls Eggman now.. which is dumb in my opinion) because he put little birds into machines. Strange? Yes! But true to the Sonic story, Robotnik has designed stage after stage of tricky and challenging feats for Sonic to perform in order to reach Eggman himself.

The game is not so much about speed however, which is quite a drawback considering it's a Sonic game. This game is more about cleverly manuevering around obstacles and killing evil robots. Simple, but not too shabby.

The game's music is astonishing, it was so good that once I got a computer that could rip CDs I did it to this one firstly. The game easily chooses fitting music for every stage and it's very relaxing or upbeat where it needs to be. Not to mention the always-fitting "Robotnik Theme" as I call it, for boss levels.

I know this is being picky, but I would have loved if Sega had at least tried to create a Super Sonic for this game, since he existed in most previous Sonic games and even in the newer ones.

Conclusion: Good game, but not the best it could have been. Good job anyway, Sega!
