I don't have much experience on online multiplayer, but dam... this game is fun. So fun I bought two copies of the game!

Let me take it out of the way, this is the first SOCOM game that I ever played, never got the chance to play SOCOM on the PS2 when the multiplayer community was active, and maybe it still is, I haven't checked, and I also not a big online player, so this was my first interaction with a game that I had spent significant time playing it. So take my opinion for what it is, just plain fun factor and performance.

I'm most of a campaign guy, I like to play games to explore and get to the end, and this game has non single player at all, which was a big turn off for me, but I decided to give it a chance anyway and I had a really good time getting into battles and chatting with people over the headset. I'm not really good at it, but the game modes can be addictive and I found myself spending way too much time in the matches. There is Trophy support, but after about weeks playing it I haven't earn any, humm.

Initially, I was getting kicked out of the servers, but I don't seem to have this problem anymore, and as for November of 2011, there's still a reasonable amount of people playing this game, even if I don't think this game did very well on reviews. It has some nice visuals, unique controller and if you get the hold on a map, you just keep coming back for more. I can say that this game sparked a curiosity for me to play more games online. It's great, and for the current price of a cup of copy, there's no reason not to give this game a try.
