Much better than everyone says!

I didn't even have a PS3 when this game first came out so I didn't really know about the buggy issues though I understand there were many and that it should have been held back a few months longer than it was. With that said I needed to get a new headset because the one that came with Warhawk busted on me. It was 49.99 for the headset alone or 59.99 for the game plus headset and I figured I would just trade in the game if I didn't lke it.

It took me a long time to open this one up, but now that I did I am really happy. As far as a "tactical shooter" I love it. It reminds me alot of the multiplayer in the original Rainbow Six for PC (A few shots and you are out of the round, don't run into a firefight, etc). It really makes it interesting to play as a team, and you will die quickly if your side does not communicate well. The graphics are good for me. To be honest I enjoy visuals but gameplay and fun factor are the most important for me. If you are a graphics snob you will no doubt have some things to say, but I personally think they did a great job.

Something I haven't seen anyone comment on is the in game interface. They probably could have joined some of the main menu options together but the great one is the briefing room. Essentially you can create a "briefing room" invite friends into it then jump into an open room together. This is great if you have a bunch of friends you often play with. And I've noticed that you'll get dominated if you join a room that has a bunch of friends or clan members on the same side. The weapons are varied but I haven't played enough with all of them to say if there is any big playability difference between them. I do like how you can customize most of the weapons to put your own personal touch on them.

The Badges (trophy) system is pretty cool but it looks to me like it will take alot of time to earn even the basic medals. This is way different than say Warhawk where you seem to earn the basic medals after a few days of gaming.

Overall I'm happy with my purchase and that is all that matters to me. The first time I killed a guy in a firefight and went over him and hit the x button to do a dance I knew I was hooked. I look forward to improving and having many, many sessions with this game.
