SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs Review

User Rating: 9.5 | SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs PS2
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs was a very successful game for the Play Station 2 console. With the second installment coming shortly after, not many people thought it would live up to the first. However, SOCOM II surprised many people by combining all new missions for the single player, and an amazing 16-player multiplayer version. The classic gameplay was very popular from the first installment and carried over to number 2. Some of the same maps were kept for number 2, and new ones added for the multiplayer version. I remember signing online and seeing the 100,000 person server nearly at capacity. The popularity of the game was very evident for the nearly 3 years before SOCOM 3 came out. Now, for the single player... The missions were fun, and kept you playing for hours. The difficulty pissed you off just enough to keep playing, even when you couldn't pass that one pesky mission. (Holding the rooftop from 100's of terrorists for 10 minutes!) After the rank of "Commander" the missions became increasingly harder, and nearly impossible on "Admiral." However, not alot of people played it for the single player, but for multiplayer instead. I still play this game occasionally online, but the glitching and codes just gets old after awhile. A solid 9.5 from me!
