The Best Snoopy Game Ever!

User Rating: 10 | Snoopy vs. the Red Baron PS2
I picked this game up not really thinking much about it. Snoopy on the cover in a biplane was more than enough to get me past the $10 price tag. I am so glad I did. This is a truly delightful game that even a seasoned gamer will enjoy.

With a truly cohesive story, the game starts off with Charlie Brown watching Snoopy sleep on his doghouse; little does Charlie Brown know that Snoopy is embarking on a mission of global proportions. This game is silly and fun and overall too good to put down. The controls are, at times, difficult to adjust to, but there is a cute tutorial school with Marcie and a handful of missions that help the gamer control Snoopy's biplane better as you progress through the game.

There is a great balance of hardcore 'fighting' in the game as well as ambient-style challenges that require you to race through sections of environments or out-fly another member of the Peanuts gang. This game also incorporates all the different characters as they assist Snoopy in his mission to save Charlie Brown from the clutches of the Red Baron.

Surprisingly, it's Lucy whom I found to be of the most help through the game, assisting Snoopy in the toughest of the dog fights. What this game brings is a sense of fun and adventure. Snoopy doesn't have guns on his biplane, he has a potato gun to fire with, something simple and harmless that gives a sense of the comical nature of a true Peanuts strips.

The story has wonderful shout-outs to the original comic and is just a really fun, but short game that is a must for a Peanuts and Snoopy fan. The thing I loved the most were the voices. They sounded exactly as you may remember them from the specials and Snoopy laughing or shaking his fist out the plane is priceless. I thoroughly enjoyed this game and wish the Xbox Arcade sequel had been closer to this than it was. Just a fantastic ride of a game.
