Clunk...clunk...clunk.

User Rating: 4.5 | Sniper Elite V2 PC
I'll review this the way I review most games and just split it into clear, concise chunks.

SETTING: There is no WW2 atmosphere at all. You don't feel like you're deep in Nazi territory in a world on fire. The streets are too clean, the weather is always perfect, no smog. Not even a dead body left in a bombed out house. It's just a detailed shooting range.

CONTROLS: Clunky at best. There is nothing relatable to generic PC controls here. Why is Q the key to take cover, and C the key to crouch AND prone (very clunky). You can remap them but why like this at all?

GAMEPLAY: Unfinished. It's just plain, yup, clunky. You can't move from cover to cover e.g. stay up against the wall while going around a corner. You often take yourself out of cover automatically. AI are pretty dumb, and once again feel like a shooting range, they either patrol in repeated routes, forming movement patterns, or just sit there waiting to get shot. It's also very restrictive. You can't go about an objective your way, it has to be done on a linear route with tonnes of movement restrictions that don't apply to enemies.

REALISM: Bad. The game's selling point is the realistic projectiles. I disagree. The bullet drop is forced to be exaggerated because the maps are too small. You can be 10m from someone, aim with the scope at the top of the head, and end up hitting them in the neck. I do like how a bullet can rip through one person and come out the over end being crushed into a pointy metal ball, ripping straight through the next and leaving a satisfyingly large organ-filled hole though.

Difficulty: Slightly insulting. Turned up to full "realism" it's damn near impossible without having the mind of a military strategist. On the easiest, it feels like it should be called "My First Sniper Elite". There is NO way of judging enemy distance and calculating bullet drop on realistic, so you are forced to play easy first to get to know this. And even on easy, it's not "re calibrate your scope to 100m" No no no. You aim, and a red box appears where the bullet will fall to. I'm not 4 years old -_-.

GRAPHICS: 4 years behind the time. Like I mentioned, provides no atmosphere.

It's a great addition to a collection but just don't buy it for any other reason.
