I started out playing Sniper Elite 2, which I got for free via Xbox Live Gold. That's the good thing about getting a free game, it entices you to play games you normally wouldn't. Usually I don't play games that require a lot of stealth, I'd rather run&gun my way through a game. Sniper Elite 2, then 3, now 4 are so well done that I make an exception.
SE4 definitely has bigger maps and gives you the freedom to move around and decide how you want to complete your objectives. Tagging the enemy definitely is a help in big maps, since they move around and you don't want to be surprised going around a corner. Having some access to suppressed sniper rifle ammo is a big help for times when you can't avoid shooting someone with others close around and no other sounds to mask your shot.
I do wish they had one or two more levels/maps in the campaign, it seemed kind of short. I guess I'll have to go back and play them over on a harder setting and try to play things differently the second (or third) time around.
So even if you're not a stealth player, give these games a try if you haven't. Now patiently (sort of) waiting for SE5. Or maybe they'll release another Nazi Zombie version of the game, which was lots of fun. Because what's better than shooting Nazis? Shooting Zombie Nazis.
