Great fun and at last an open world game with great melee combat. Great potential...

I am a lover of open world or otherwise know as sand box games and this game has taken me by surprise. WOW!!! I think the open world has been waiting for this game and has great potential.

The positive :
The entire take of Hong Kong mafia and triad wars already creates and interesting but dangerous appeal to the player.
And with Wei being an undercover cop infiltrating this dangerous scene working both sides of the law was different and I think the team pulled it off beautifully. Different is at times good and this game in certain ways stepped out of the bricked path of the GTA series that many have tried to replicate and many have succeeded in doing so but in saying that we have been waiting for something different.
The one thing I liked about this game was the melee combat was awesome. Its been a while since we had a hero with some series combat skills in an open world game.
Slow motion gun fire and an skills development is also a great attribute.
I liked the balance between the melee and the hard core weapon challenges.

The Negative:
Although the game had an interesting story line and it flow gracefully throughout the game, the challenges could have been more challenging and elaborate. The weapons available to the player was very limited and only available during missions or when you eventually advance to a point when it becomes available in the rear compartment of police vehicles.
Man we are in Hong Kong, wheres the katanas, Ninja stars, Nun-chucks, explosives. I think some development should be made if there are sequels "and I hope so" in purchasing weapons.
And the cars, there some great cars to drive but man I clocked this game and never had a chance to earn enough money to buy the best ones.
Apartment furniture. The game had a feature where the player could purchase furniture for the various apartments. The salesman are randomly scattered throughout the city. I think and more controlled approach of sooping up the cribs would be more exciting.
The part of hacking cameras inorder to catch the bad drug dealers from the apartment, was cool at first but then became boring and monotonous. I love the part of beating down the bad guys to do it but then going back to the apartment and checking the surveillance became boring after a while.

Overall the game has great potential and I think can become a big franchise with some tweaks and work. I loved it and played it twice so far. I must play, a great buy and I will definitely buy a sequel of this game.

Great gaming, keep it safe.
