Where's the remade version?

User Rating: 7 | SimTower (CD-ROM) PC
Maxis has through their time on the top made a lot of great titles for the PC and their classics have all been released as free downloads on the internet the last decade. SimTower is simply their best free-to-download title and has been since it released.

Graphics and Gameplay:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When turning the game on, you hear a loud noise and doors being opened, meaning, "Welcome to SIMtower". The game is based on getting as many stars as possible according to your built tower. To do so, you must be careful to organize business, catering, entertaining and estate services correctly so that for example offices don't make to much noise above or under anyones appartment or hotel room. It plays great and moves very slow (there is a "faster" option), but the calculations of services on the game, making the value of your tower visible, are superb. There is unfortunately only one building limit and therefore, you must build thin building to manage keeping everything easily in order. Also there are quite unreasonable glitches. But considering it's a game from 1994 and also considering that they had a limited amount of programs to make it work with, so that's just a minor con. SIMtower gets to hard when you try to build as fast as possible or get as much income as possible because there's some kind of strategy to it. Sadly it also gets boring after a long while, which is why i've been playing on and off every year or so since i first got it in 2000 (because i start missing it). As i mentioned before, the graphics are the product of a 1994 programming system so it's some good considering how old it is, but it does deserve a remade version since it's a good game. They've also included seasons of the year and contrasts between day and night.

All in all, it's a free game, which does indeed make a worthy download of the measel 2 mb.
