I've just started to play, and only have one ship sunk.I should've waited to review it later.I set all dificulty levels high for better realism.I found my 2.4 (which isn't far behing the dual core 2.4 unless your multitasking) combined with my old Geforce 6200 512mg handles the game OK.I have to run the lowest rez with 'high textures' off,or it starts to get alittle choppy.(I think a min of a 3.0cpu is req)...but it still looks nice.
This is basically a simulator (the controls are on the easy side...allmost too easy).I wouldn't mind my keyboard being used twice via 'shift',but thats ok.I ran aground...so i came here before i start a new career.
I think i'm going to dig this one.I used to play 'silent hunter 2' and liked it alot...it was a more hardcore sim.Don't expect instant battle cause the ocean is a large place, but it does have time compression,so no sweat.
If you lean towards sims, have alittle patience, and would like to command your own sub, you'll like it.You can escort ships and more.Plan on reading the manual abit, but i think you could learn most just playing it.(i ran aground while i was in the sonar room, but i'm green).SH2 was deeper...i wish they would've just retextured the old one,but oh well.SH4 is sill cool....and i bet it's only $10 by now.
