More like an adventure than what a Silent Hill game is supposed to feel like.

I remember waiting to play it see how it feels before telling my opinion on comments here and there blaming the soooo many indeed similarities to the SH Movie. So i did and after several believe me playthroughs yet i cannot tell how exactly i feel about Homecoming.

I'll start from scratch.

Before i sit down to write this review said to myself that i'll try as much as i can to let aside my love for the SH Series,my respect to Team Silent *that made the masterpiece called Silent Hill 2* and my anticipation to this game. Been waiting for the 5th installment for soooo long and i was scared at some point that will never be released. So i was really excited when i took this game in my hands.

It starts so awesome! The atmosphere is,feels like Silent Hill. It goes flawless ...until it lets me completely down. I was like "wtf? am i playing Resident Evil?" Then again it IS interesting so i keep on playing 'till i realize that i play a SH game without feeling scared. That's where it lacks , that i can tell for sure. Fear factor. The thing that made SH my fav. series. The feeling of isolation isn't there. SH games are famous for how disturbing they are. Disturbing it is not.
I respect Double Helix's efforts to make a SH game feel like SH and at some points really they did a great job. The environments are great,i saw monsters really nightmarish. But...i wasn't scared. BOO scared yes but that twisted thing SH makes in your head wasn't there. Least in my head. The gameplay is great,i really love how it lets you manipulate the camera. I do also love the combat system. Yeah Alex is a soldier so he knows how to do maneuvers.
The bosses were absolutely great. I have one fav. boss from this game and that's Scarlet. I love the whole boss fight. Akira Yamaoka once again proved to be a God.

Overall i can finally say that few things shouldn't in any way be there,so many straight rip offs from the movie and an attempt to imitate SH2 in so many ways. The endings were just....meaningless? i'm still confused.
I strongly believe that people who's Homecoming is their 1st Silent Hill experience they will simply adore the game.
But personally this experience *because SH is an experience* left me disappointed in the end.

No need to say that like a next gen game is highly improved visually compared to previous games of the series but really? that isn't enough to make a great Silent Hill game. Good, almost not quite though.

Still i'm really pleased that i'll be able to tell if is the last of the series "OK it wasn't a crap,it was kinda a good one. I had fun playing it"

Heyyy nice adventure afterall.
