Trying to keep pace with its predecessors, yet failing (but not that badly)
Fighting is kinda easy, one button for block and another for attacking. Lots of weapons everywhere. I suspect the talk about bad fighting system were started by someone who didnt play much games (or had only one hand).
I missed the sounds of the older Silent hill the tones that didnt let you stay calm... also, due to auto-save feature its really hard to be afraid, since you know that when you die, you will just have to repeat one or two minutes of play...
Overall it was good, worth the money, but the flaws and missing sense of "fear" make me wonder if I will go for the next one (well maybe I will after all:)
