The Gameplay is just like every other Silent Hill game. With the outdated third person perspective, but like the other Silent Hill games you can change the Gameplay style from 2D to 3D in the options menu or vise versa depending on your preference. If you’re a long time survival horror gamer these controls won’t really bother you anyway and if they do it’s unlikely that you won’t be able to get past them and enjoy the game. The graphics are good to great for the most part. A lot of the game you’ll say looks good, but at times you’ll look at some parts of the game and will be very pleased with some aspects. For example the water and the character models look great. As far as the environments and objects looking like something that should be in a Silent Hill game, there isn’t any lack of that in this game. The environments that you are put in look good and definitely deliver of the weird and scary. Like rooms where the walls start to progressively bleed while you are in them, or small pools of black oil substances moving all around a room. The games music is very different then every other Silent Hill game. Some songs featured in the game even have lyrics. Out of context of the games music CD that does come free with the game, it sounds a little odd and out of place. But, in the game these songs don’t stick out like a sore thumb and do fit in very well for a different sound to the game. The sound effects are as good as always, being very strange and freaky sounding. Other things like guns and objects falling or whatever also sounds great. The game also has some incredible voice acting, particularly on the other end of some phone calls you get from some crazy people at the mental home. The game is very short though; it is only 8 and a half hours long. Your average survival horror is 12 hours long. Both Silent Hill 2 and 4 are 12 hours, while Silent Hill 3 doesn’t go that long. The games story is a little off at times, but other parts are really good. Overall it is a good game with some small problems and some pretty freaky and scary points as well. If you love Silent Hill games you should probably check this game out because like I say it does have some pretty wild stuff in it, but it isn’t as good as Silent Hill 2 or 4 in my opinion. So if your not a huge Silent Hill fan you’ll be ok to let this one slip by you, but you won’t be any worse off for playing it.
