Shiver me timbers and all the pirate stuff...this is one of the best games ever on PC.
Yes, the game is repetitive..and you know what the life of a pirate probably got a little repetitive. Women, plunder, dance, plunder, whiskey, plunder, plunder, jail, plunder....and its ALL here and its all glorious.
Even today in the year 2010 - there is no doubt in my mind this game will still get another spin or 5 in my PC.
You can choose between 4 faction there are France, Spain, English and Dutch. The story is really non existant other than you want to be rich and the bestest pirate in the whole wide world.
There are a lot of cool aspects, you can go to land, hunt for treasure with treasure maps youve found and look for landmarks (very challenging and rewarding) or you can stop at ports and "woo" the gov.'s daughter and dance with them by matching their various dance moves.
You can also just caputure ships. The game is basically a free roaming world in which you can do whatever you want. The worst part of this game is what I call the Sid Meier flaw in where the game FORCES you to retire....its very frustrating to leave your crew and your pirate life when you are just reaching your prime...such is the way of life...
