A good expansion pack for a legendary game.

Alien Xfire is a good expansion pack, it has 2 new alien factions which are very tough so the difficulty level is raised playin this instead of the original SMAC.
It has new human factions: they are interesting, but somewhat seems to me a copy of the original factions. For example, Data Roze seems very similar to the Morganites, and the A.I. Consciousness seems very similar to the University faction. So although good, some of the new factions introduced are not so original.
This expansion also got a good amount of new city improvements, reserch goals and secret projects, all very interesting.
The biggest problem of Alien Crossfire, it's his father: the original SMAC is just so perfect that any expansion would look weak compared. What more could you add to a Da Vinci project or a Mozart song?
Anyway, Alien Crossfire is a good expansion on its own: buy it and enjoy it if you can find a copy.... or afford its price. ;-)
