A Haunting, Melancholy Game That Is Tough to Master, but Great to Beat!

Up until now, I had no idea of how the Nintendo Switch would be, in terms of giving me good, original, downloadable video games. Now, that I have played one of the very first original, downloadable video games made available for Nintendo Switch, I think I can safely say, that the Nintendo Switch CAN make good, original, downloadable video games! This video game serves as a prequel to "Shovel Knight", where the fallen soldier Donovan, now resurrected as Specter Knight, seeks to recruit eight soldiers, for The Enchantress, and the Order of No Quarter. This video game brings back the aesthetics and graphics of an eight to sixteen bit video game (comparable to the Turbographx-16), and all the music, sounds, good controls, and incredible challenge one might find in a game of this nature. The levels are varied in their scenery, layout, secrets to find, different curios and cloaks to buy, each with their own strengths and abilities, to help Scythe Knight get past the many enemies and obstacles in his path! A word of advice, as soon as you can, buy the cloak that allows you to at least TAKE a couple of falls down bottomless pits or spikes WITHOUT dying; there will almost certainly be a LOT of them that will happen on the first play through! And even though this game is definitely darker from the first "Shovel Knight" game, it is certainly no slouch in delivering the challenge, story, and humor, that one can expect from this video game series, and it definitely does a good job, at setting up the "Shovel Knight" story proper. If you want to play a game that does a good job, at putting its own spin on the "Mega Man/Metroid/Castlevania" exploration choice video games well, this is definitely a video game that you should try playing! Enough said, true believers!
