A surprisingly good game.

One Piece for the Game Boy Advance is actually a pretty good game. You play as Monkey D. Luffy, an energetic and hyperactive kid. Luffy's main goal in life is to find the legendary treasure, One Piece, and become king of the pirates. If you haven't figured it out already, this game is based on an anime show that's very popular in Japan. This game is different from the other games in this franchise in the fact that's it's a decent and enjoyable game. The graphics and visuals are good for a GBA game. There were no glitches that I could tell by playing it. It's also very bright and colorful. The background music is nothing to write home about but it's okay. The game play is what you'd expect for a GBA game. What I mean by that is that it's enjoyable for the younger audience but tedious for the older audience, which is a good thing because it's a kids' game. The enemies are varied and stick to the plot of the show faithfully. The bosses are tough and they can easily get frustrating, but that's a big improvement over other One Piece games. I gotta say though, it was very nice for the developers to stick to the story line of the anime so closely. That makes it very accessible to gamers that don't watch the show. Even though, that may be a bad thing considering that it was made to appeal only to the fans of the show. At any rate, One Piece is a fairly decent game and a very welcome installment into the franchise. I highly recommend it to fans of the show. If you're not a fan, still try it because you may be surprised.
