Ninjutsu! Ishinitakie Satorie Toshi! o.O Legendary Shinobi in his second assessment for Gamegear..
The game graphics, maybe 8 years ago, really impressed me. It was one of my favorite and most entertaining Games for the GG handheld system.
The niftiest feature and innovation (?) was that you would eventually steal special abilities from the bosses killed in a certain area.
So you were suddenly able to throw bombs or use other special abilities to pass through the harder areas more "easily".
As far as i can remember you could also choose which areas to try first.. and which ones later. So it was not so linear as we were used to from many games released in that era.
Despite these freedoms in choice i found the game very hard at a certain stage.. maybe i've just chosen to steal the wrong skills first :p or maybe i was a little bit too young to conquer this game.
Anyway. It was helluva fun.. and i will never forget Shinobi.
As today his spirit is still living on in games like Tenchu or Ninja Gaiden.
