An old but still very fun title!
Now the graphics are ok for a game of its time,and the sounds are still just as catchy as they were back then.The battle animations and color detail are all just great.The controls are easy to get a handle on and since there are no jumps and pit falls here the controls work just fine.
Now you can move every guy or gal a certain number of spaces.Each person can attack in various ways.Some can hit from a square away while others can hit from a few squares away.All this factors in to some real brain bending thoughts.Its kinda like chess with some rpg elements.You also will gain xp for every hit you score.Your healers will gain xp everytime they heal someone and so on.Your guys grow in power and moves due to defeating foes and this helps add some depth to the game.You will take breaks from the battles and visit towns,where you can buy,and sell stuff and see some more of the story unfold which isn't all that bad for a game this old.It all comes together so well that the end result is just a wonderful experience.
Some old games don't hold up well some not at all but then theres some that are just as fun now as they were then, and shining force is for sure one of those games.
