Shadows of the Damned is a really interesting, entertaining game, but sadly it's held back by quite a few annoyances.

Instead of write a long review of this game, I'm going to list out the pro and cons to make it very CLEAR what is hit and miss in this game.

Pros:
-The character development in this game is great. Garcia and Johnson are hilarious and tell lots of really dirty jokes.
-The art work and graphics look great. The environments really make it look like your in hell.
-Unique game play with the lighting. Goats, fire works, darkness hands.....
-Most of the game has a fair and reasonable difficulty to it.

Cons:
-The game is incredibly un-even in pacing. In Act 4, you go from side scroller to regular level to side scroller.
-Speaking of side scrollers, the side scroller bit in this game is ATROCIOUS. I understand the developers were going for a unique feel with it, but it's just painfully boring and annoying.
-The Fleming and Paula boss fights at the end are practically rigged unless you have THE DENTIST at full upgrade.
-The humor, while funny, can get to the point of where it is just immature and childish.
-LOTS of texture pop out. There has never been an update for this game, and the texture pop out can get really bad at times.
-The shot gun is pathetic in this game. Besides the regular demons, it is barely used in the game.
-NO NEW GAME PLUS!? There is no multiplayer or even any additional content to it. This is just begging to be sold after beating the game.

Overall, Shadows of the Damned is an above average game that is unique and funny, but it is held back by so many problems that it just can't reach full potential. Better luck on the sequel Grasshopper!
