Shadowgate is a truly old-school game that some players might not get into, but those who do just might love it.

If you've never played this game, or even heard of it, than I'm sorry. But you shouldn't feel bad. This point-and-click adventure game was never even close in terms of popularity to some other games of the time (the late 80's), so if you missed it, it's understandable. But those out there who actually were fortunate enough to experience this weird little game undoubtedly fell in love with it's creepy visuals, drillingly spooky music, and myriad puzzles, traps, and ways to die. You can even off yourself a variety of ways, though obviously there's no point other than to see the grimy Grim Reaper laughing at you from the completely awesome game over screen. But when you do perish (which will happen all the time, until you figure out the path), the game always starts you off only a room or two behind, so it never takes long to get back on track. I know some will definitely find this game to be too slow and archaic to be fun, especially when compared to almost any game made after the 3D age, but if you give this game a chance (or 5), and actually accept it for what it is, you might just fall in love with it.
