It's dark, creepy, mysterious, violent... Sounds good? Yeah, but doesn't look that good...

First of all, graphics suck big time. It looks like a Ps1 game and I really think it would run nicely on that console. When I started to play I thought maybe it came out in 1998 or something, but when I see it came out almost in the beginning of 2002 I couldn't believe my eyes... Shame on you Midway and Sacnoth.

It lets you play as Yuri, a guy who tries to save a girl named Alice because a voice in his head says so... Well, story wise, it's not something we haven't seen before. The only thing that's new is a system called "Judgement Ring" but it's not cool and different as it sounds. You just have to press the X button in right time before attacking... Some RPGs also had similiar stuff before so...

Music and voices fit the game's dark atmosphere. But conversations are not dubbed during game so it has a bland feel. The game aims to make your X button get older, that's all it does.

FMVs are a disaster. Like I said before, there are better looking games from 1998. I don't know if it's something that's been done on purpose, but it makes the game look so cheap and old.

A guy said "It's trying to be like Final Fantasy X"... Well my friend, I'm a FFX fan but there's one thing that game is not trying to be, and that one thing is Final Fantasy... When did you see gore and harsh violence in a FF game? Only thing they have in common is they're both turn-based RPGs, and they've released in the same year, but FFX looks like a PS2 game should look like...

All in all, it's one of the worst titles in Ps2 history. And I give it a 4.0 just because of it's existence and it spawned some sequels. Yet again, you may want to give it a try because hard-to-find creepy atmosphere in a RPG, but I'm not sure everybody can enjoy this game...
