It was a great idea, but didn't reach it's potential.

Scribblenauts was a great idea to make into a game, Write down anything you want! But it's poor control and gameplay depth makes the game fade as quickly as it came.

The game is based around the idea of how amazing it would be to write down what you want to bring to life. It consists of a main playing experience much similar to the one of a mini game. Absolutely no story whatsoever, but still fun and very amusing.

After a while of playing both Action orientated and puzzle modes, the entertaining quality dies down and leaves you wanting a game with less repetitious gameplay and more depth.

To collect the starite, you must invent something that will help you in an array of different circumstances, including under water, in the air, underground, all the tools you'd need to dig, swim, shoot, swing and climb your way to success.

But the awful controls of the game actually hinder you more and leave you frustrated. Constantly using the stylus means you often run when you don't want to, fall down into places, die easily, pick up things you don't want to, drop things you don't want to and select things while trying to walk/run. Irritating.

On a fun note, there are literally thousands of creative things to add to your game. You also have an endless sandpit in which to play in with your hearts content. And building your own level with ideas from anything is pleasing.

I actually enjoyed the puzzle mode for the most part, Where you are given a hint about a certain situation and are then asked to help solve it with whatever you can think of.

The ollar store is very lacking, (Ollar's being the currency)as the only thing to purchase are avatars (people to play as besides Maxwell) and songs.
Neither are very interesting.

There are many other places to save up for to unlock, but all have the same repetitive nature about them. Figuring out a way to collect the Starite, or puzzles.

I'd have to say I'm not enjoying it as much as I wanted, it needs more then just an idea to hold it together. It's fun while it lasts, but definitely needs something else to it.
