SBK08, the official game of the WSBK Championship that unfortunately cant steal the spotlight away from Moto GP games.

User Rating: 7 | SBK-08 Superbike World Championship X360
SBK '08 is an improvement over previous Superbike games but it's not as good as it could have been.

As you'd expect all the 2008 riders and tracks are here, including the new Miller Motorsport Park track and you get six play modes to choose from, though the distinction between them can be slim.

Instant Action, for instance, drops you straight into a race with no messing about. Quick Race, on the other hand, at least lets you choose the track and team. Time Attack is self explanatory, while Race Weekend and Championship are where you go for the full SBK experience.

The level of detail included for the bikes is impressive but it's a shame the same amount of detail couldn't be transferred to the look of the riders and track-side details. The physics engine could have been better as well and tweaking some of the realism settings didn't really make things feel any better.

The game seems stuck in the middle of Arcade and Simulation and can be either far too easy or too frustrating to be enjoyable. Unfortunately the AI doesn't exactly impress either, with riders quickly forming a queue along the racing line and barely reacting to your presence of yourself or the other AI riders out on track.

All in all it's not a bad bike game and might be worth a rental if your into bike racing games but unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations.

If your after a good bike racing game however checkout my other latest review on the new MotoGP08 review for the PS3 and Xbox360 which I will be posting shortly for the PS3 version.
