Think of a nice selection of tunes, goofy humor and Edo period samurais with lots of crazy moves and dialogues.

Based on the manga and anime of the same name (Samurai Champloo), this is another hack n´ slash that adds some nice variants like the selection of tunes that will define the moves that´ll help you take the bad guys out.

The game takes a detour from the anime and takes place in another city.

You can choose between Mugen, (a guy that uses some break-dance and hard slashes) Jin (the old school samurai that employs a more serious style of fighting) and there´s a third unlockable character exclusive to the game.
The game is really straightforward, you go from one place to another, kill all the bad guys, gather money and fighting a boss, then go back to a little town in Ezo (that´s the name of the place you´ll be hanging around), buy new tunes, new weapons or items that´ll help you trough out your quest of getting money and food : ) .

The game employs some static camera angles and a rail-style camera in other sequences. The game was produced by Grasshopper, the same team behind the all-crazy Killer 7, so it uses the same kind of art style even the fonts and some sounds.

Although the graphics aren´t that great, they have great style and crazy design, the characters looks nice and are more detailed than the bad guys that will range from ninjas with hoods to crazy monkeys with knifes in their mouths (yep, knives!!)

The tunes that you can buy add a unique experience, because they will determinate the amount of slashes and moves that you´ll use and they will increase as you become more proficient with them.

The humor is something that you´ll find in the game most of the tome, and we´re talking about crazy and sometimes non-sense humor that won´t appeal to everyone. For example, there´s one dialogue involving one of the characters with a monkey that has a crazy hairstyle that is really funny.

Is good to see a game based on an anime series that´s not dumb or recycled, Bandai has learned from the past and decided to deliver a fresh experience, that, of course, won´t revolutionate the gaming scene, but will give the gamers a new a crazy experience.
