Fans of the series pretty much know the storyline by now. This ever so popular anime series is on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network and the DVD's and manga are available. For those that don't know the story don't fret. The series begins with a mysterious man asking a waitress for Mizu, or water. About the same time, a ronin, a masterless samurai, is roaming around the area searching for insurgents that are causing havoc to a small village. The two samurai meet in a bar and Jin, the ronin, mistakes Mugen, the mysterious man, for a insurgent. Swords are swung and more fights occur including Mugen hacking off a guy's arm in a single stroke. Jin and Mugen are captured and Fuu, the waitress, saves them. In return, Jin and Mugen agree to help Fuu find "the samurai who smells of sunflowers".

The game takes place before the trio heads to Nagasaki. Watch the series and you will get it. :)

There is a plot between two clans and our heroes get caught in the middle. The voice acting from the series is present in the game so that is a plus. The battle system is like a button masher with some unique twists to it. You have a combo tree on the middle on the top of the screen. Pressing certain buttons at certain times would enable you to perform long combos, enter tate mode, using counterattacks and so forth. The fighting style deals with the music tracks that you select and buy. Different records equals different attacks and and music as well. This game is worth it if you love the series and just want a hack and slasher with an original storyline.
