A hidden gem! Any fan of great characters, good stories, and RPGs need to play this game!
Background story-Shinjuro Taiga, the main character, has been transferred to the New York Star Division in the U.S. from Japan. In New York he joins his all-female team and fights the forces of darkness.
Dialogue/Combat- While you are not battling you can explore the city and talk to your teammates. By choosing the right responses when you talk to them their trust in you will go up, thus making them more effective in battle. During the battles you take turns moving around the field, kind of like Fire Emblem, Advance wars, or final fantasy tactics, except with more freedom. The battles are quite fun. When you attack the enemy, you press the X button to hit them and each time you do it reduces you "mobility gauge" by one. By hitting the X button 5 times the robot you are controlling does a combo finisher. Super moves, and tag team "joint attacks" are also available. Unlike other RPGs there are not any items. In battle you just use the heal command so you never have worry about running out of potions. Most of the battles have a very long time span between them, but the outstanding characters, story, and exploration keep the game interesting. One of the coolest features about the game is that your choices in dialogue can affect the ending. But to make it clear there are several endings in the game. I would elaborate but that would lead to spoilers.
Overall, this is a great RPG that you need to try. It has the great story, the humor, the combat, and the characters that keep the game moving.
