The best Saints Row DLC yet, but is it worth the investment?

PRESENTATION

The Trouble With Clones is the final DLC add-on for Saints Row: The Third. It revolves around Jimmy, a Johnny Gat nut who clones a brute version of him using his own items. This is bad news for the Saints, because Tag (backwards, right?) escapes and flees around the city, forcing the Saints leader and Pierce to find him and rescue him from the cops and rival gangs. The add-on takes us on an entertaining trip around the city while we kill gangs and cops and figure out how to save Tag. It's a fun little story, and its nice to see Gat... I mean, Tag again. Jimmy is a science nerd to gives the player access to the Swarmitron, a bee gun that stings and renders people unconscious. The writing is solid, and is amusingly narrated by Jimmy himself. The last part of the add-on also introduces us to a cool bit of gameplay that I won't spoil, but it completely sells the add-on, if only for the final 20 minutes.

GAMEPLAY

The game remains as fun as ever, and the missions are more fun than Volition's other add-on, "Gangstas in Space". The reason is that we're not confined to a strict path like the other DLC because of its movie theme. Now, we get to team up with a massive version of Gat in Steelport. There are some genuinely amusing moments in "The Trouble With Clones", such as fending off rabid Saints fans while Pierce is singing, and killing dozens of cops and S.W.A.T officers in Technically Legal. It is definitely the best of the DLC bunch, and worthy of the Saints Row name. It is still very short, with only an hour and a half of gameplay. Still, the trophies are rewarding for the purchase.

REPLAYABILITY

It's very short and lacks any sort of incentive to replay but, like Genkibowl VII and Gangstas in Space, this add-on gives you access to a new weapon and vehicle, which is reward for the playthrough. All in all, its a solid adventure.
